What was the best part of the day?

The best part of today was spending time at home with my love. Sometimes I really have to remind myself that he’ll be headed back to school next week and we will be seeing less of each other during the week. It was nice to make dinner for him and then just enjoy the evening.

What are you reading currently?

Nothing currently. I spend much of my free time crocheting these days. Oh Kindle, where are thou?

Just kidding. I don’t “miss” reading. I do enjoy it sometimes, but I also really hate it when you devote so much time to a crappy book. I think that’s why I like crocheting so much. If I start making something I know what it will be in the end. A hat become a hat. A scarf becomes a scarf. And so on.

What is your mission for this year?

I don’t really like the idea of resolutions, but I do like the idea of having a mission for the year. For 2016 I would like to take better care of myself, both mentally and physically. This takes a lot of forms.

I want to take better care of my skin. I’ve already developed a daily skin care routine for both morning and night. We’ll see how that works. I want to get back in shape a bit. I’m looking in to joining this gym by my apartment. I want to spend more time doing things I enjoy. I want to crochet more and do more things with my mentee. I want to watch more movies and cuddle on the couch. I want to laugh more. I want to leave work at work and not complain about it so much. I want to stop doing so much and trying so hard for people that don’t do the same for me. I want to always remember that I can’t change someone else’s mind, only they can do that.

Really, I just want to have another good year!

For Christmas I got this awesome book. It’s a journal that asks a question everyday. You use the same book for five years so at the beginning of the next year you answer the same 365 questions.

I think it’s a really neat idea to see how your life, thoughts, and feelings change during that time period. However I find myself wanting to write more than the space allows. Thus entering this blog. I’m going to challenge myself to elaborate on my answers ¬†everyday here!
